site.bta4.7-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Canakkale Province

An earthquake, measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale was registered in the Canakkale Province on the Aegean coast at 17:40 hrs on Monday, the Kandilli observatory in Istanbul said.

The quake occurred at a depth of 10.23 km.

The quake was epicentered in Eine and was felt in Istanbul and the provinces of Balikesir, Bursa and Imir.

The are no immediate reports of damages and casualties. 

Greek media report the tremor was felt on the island of Lesbos.
