PM Borissov: There Will Be No Cadre Changes in Cabinet

Sofia, May 28 (BTA) - There will be no cadre changes in the
Government, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov told journalists on
Thursday evening. "I am firmly against cadre changes in the
Cabinet at the moment. The Cabinet is working wonderfully -
whoever can propose a better option is welcome," he said.

GERB Floor Leader Tsvetan Tsvetanov told journalists in Veliko
Turnovo (North Central Bulgaria), quoted by his party's press
service, that Bulgaria currently has a stable government, as
proven by the key visits of Bulgarian statesmen in Europe and
vice versa.

These statements were prompted, among other things, by
Wednesday's news that the Patriotic Front (PF) has seven
conditions for the Government to meet before July 1 or else it
will withdraw its support for the ruling majority. The
conditions include a vote on PF-proposed revisions to the
Elections Code, including one to make voting mandatory or at
least introduce a requirement for voter registration, and
harsher sanctions against vote buying.

Tsvetanov said firmly that GERB will not propose revisions to
the Election Code before the forthcoming local elections. "We
are making efforts, as the biggest parliamentary group, to have
a constructive dialogue with all parliamentary represented
parties. The dialogue is a fact on the topic of healthcare, as
well as on the constitutional amendments. What we have stated
firmly is that we are ready to discuss every single change which
has received full political consensus," Tsvetanov said.

On Friday, Deputy Prime Minister for Coalition Policy Roumyana
Buchvarova told journalists in Parliament that GERB will
probably reply to PF's seven conditions a lot earlier than July
1. "We are working, there is nothing that can happen on the
dot," she added.

During Friday's Question Time in Parliament, Ataka leader Volen
Siderov demanded the resignation of Defence Minister Nikolay
Nenchev because of the harm he causes to Bulgaria's defence and
security. Doctors from the specialized oncology centres across
the county have been protesting for a month and demand the
resignation of Health Minister Peter Moskov over his decision to
merge these centres with other hospitals. In February, the
opposition BSP-Left Bulgaria demanded the resignations of
Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov and Defence Minister Nenchev over
inadequate decisions taken by them which serve foreign interests
and lead the country to yet another disaster.
