Transport Minister Moskovski: Lv 1,000 Mln Must Be Absorbed by Year's End under Operational Programme

Sofia, June 3 (BTA) - Transport, IT and Communications Minister
Ivaylo Moskovski said that 1,000 million leva must be absorbed
under Operational Programme Transport 2007-2013 by the year's
end. Speaking at the opening of the Programme's Monitoring
Committee on Tuesday, he urged all beneficiaries to accelerate
project implementation.

The Transport Ministry quoted Moskovski as saying that some
projects had made considerable progress in the last few months,
while others were seriously lagging behind and might not be
completed during that programming period.

Moskovski said payments so far accounted for nearly 75 per cent
of the programme's budget, and certified expenditures topped
1,100 million euro, 69 per cent of the budget. While
arrangements have been made for the timely completion of the
road sector projects, Lot 2 of the Sofia Western Speed Tangent
and Gabrovo's bypass are too far behind schedule for that.

A small part of the work on the three railway projects -
Septemvri-Plovdiv, Plovdiv-Bourgas and Purvomai-Svilengrad - may
be done after 2015.
