There Is Lasting Tendency of Increase of Areas under Oil-bearing Rose - Minister

Kazanluk, June 7 (BTA) - The production of Bulgarian rose is
restored. There is a lasting tendency of an increase of the
areas under the Bulgarian oil-bearing rose, Minister of
Agriculture and Foods Dessislava Taneva said at the newly-opened
BTA Press Club. On Sunday, the town marked the Day of Rose,
which is traditionally held in the first weekend of June.

This is the first time this year that the traditional Bulgarian
oil-bearing rose varieties will receive additional support
within the new programming period of the Rural Development
Programme. Every producer is entitled to additional financing
for having preserved a specific variety. They can also apply
within a total of six measures for colour. Bulgaria provides 40
per cent of the rose oil supply in the world.

The Day of Rose offers a unique possibility to show Bulgaria's
rose capital - Kazanluk and the Kazanluk Valley, Regional
Development and Public Works Minister Lilyana Pavlova said
during her visit to Kazanluk quoted by her Ministry.

After more than 35 years, the Museum of the Rose already has its
own building and infrastructure. The Government provides 1.3
million within the budget for this purpose, Minister Pavlova
said.

She said that a decision was taken last Friday to provide almost
1 million leva to Kazanluk in additional financing for urban
development within the 2007-2013 Regional Development Programme.

A third important decision has been the designation of the
Kazanluk Municipality as Intermediary Body within OP Regions in
Growth 2014-2020, which will allow it to select and implement
independently projects, related to the town. The Municipality
can make new investments to the amount of nearly 20 million leva
in urban environment and public transport, educational, social
and cultural infrastructure, Minister Pavlova said.
