National Assembly Chair Tsacheva Discusses Infrastructure, Energy Projects with Romania's President, Foreign Minister

Bucharest, June 9 (BTA) - National Assembly Chair Tsetska
Tsacheva and Bulgarian MPs conferred with Romanian President
Klaus Iohannis, Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu and the head of
the Romanian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, as
part of their two-day official visit to Bucharest, Parliament's
press service said Tuesday.

On the Bulgarian parliamentary delegation headed by Tsacheva are
National Assembly Deputy Chair Ivan Ivanov (Reformist Bloc) and
MPs Angel Naydenov (BSP-Left Bulgaria), Aydoan Ali (Movement
for Rights and Freedoms), Krassimir Bogdanov (Patriotic Front),
and Borislav Borissov (ABV).

At the meetings with President Iohannis and Minister Aurescu, it
was stated that much more active contacts are necessary for the
implementation of a series of infrastructure projects,
including the construction of new bridges over the Danube
between the two countries. It was also noted that a greater
energy diversification requires the finalization in the shortest
terms possible of the inter-system gas connection between
Bulgaria and Romania at Rousse-Giurgiu.

Tourism as one of the most dynamically developing branches in
the bilateral trade and economic relations, also featured on the
agenda of the official talks. Tsacheva underscored the need of
Bulgaria and Romania to promote the offering of joint tourist
products and the organization of joint promotional activities in
third countries.

The talks with Patriarch Daniel focused on the fraternal
relations between the Bulgarian and Romanian Orthodox Church,
the stable diplomatic dialogue and the dynamic partnership
between the two countries. Tsacheva noted that in this spirit of
goodneighbourliness and cooperation, a solution should be found
to the issue of restoring the Orthodox services in Bulgarian
language in Romania.
