Bulgaria Has a Plan in Case of Bankruptcy of Greece

Brussels, June 11 (BTA Special Correspondent Nikolay Zheliazkov)
 - If things go as far as bankruptcy of Greece and sharp
deterioration of the crisis there, Bulgaria will be most
affected. This is a cause of big concern, President Rosen
Plevneliev told Bulgarian journalists in Brussels.

"I may assure you that the Prime Minister, the ministers of
foreign affairs and finance and I follow very carefully and
partake in the decision-making at European level although
Bulgaria is not a part of the euro area. I talked on the issue
with all European leaders in the past 24 hours. [Е] I am
convinced that a final agreement will be reached in the
following hours," the President said.

Plevneliev said that since Wednesday he has had two meetings
with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras. The two took part in
the Second EU-CELAC
(Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) Summit in
Brussels.

The Bulgarian head of State also said that he has a plan "B" and
holds regular meetings with the Prime Minister at which various
 issues are discussed.

The Greek banks in Bulgaria are different structures. According
to the BNB data, all banks in Bulgaria are sufficiently well
capitalized, steady and enjoy the citizens' confidence. Even if
the worst happens in Greece, Bulgaria is so stable that even the
opposite effect can be witnessed - an influx of capitals in
Bulgaria, said the President. "However, we want that our Greek
friends be steady, have no bankruptcies but reforms and
development," he noted.
