PM Borissov: We Are Doing Our Best to Implement Promptly Bulgaria-Greece Interconnector

Baku, June 12 (BTA) - Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov on
Friday conferred with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Meeting at the Presidential Palace in Baku, Borissov and Aliyev
discussed the transit and deliveries of natural gas from
Azerbaijan to Bulgaria, the government information service said.

Borissov underscored that Bulgaria is doing its best to
implement promptly an interconnector with Greece which will
supply Bulgaria with Azeri gas. "The Bulgarian government has
taken all possible measures to promptly implement the
Bulgaria-Greece interconnector and will ensure the quality of
the project. The interconnector will have a capacity of 25-30
billion cu m and this will allow Bulgaria to turn into a hub and
supply other European countries with Azeri gas."

Borissov said that Bulgaria also plans to build interconnectors
with Romania and Serbia which will allow Azerbaijan to deliver
larger quantities of gas to Bulgaria and Europe.

The two discussed Bulgarian-Azeri relations. Prime Minister
Borissov tanked President Aliyev for a donation of 1.2 million
euro by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to restore the Trapesitsa
reserve in Bulgaria's medieval capital of Veliko Turnovo.
