45 Per Cent of ICT Experts in Bulgaria Find Their Office Stress Level High

Sofia, October 16 (BTA) - Forty-five per cent of the experts in
Bulgaria's  information and communications technology (ICT)
industry find the stress level in their office high, show data
from a survey ordered by an international company that
specializes in the acquisition, development, management and
funding of commercial real estates. The results of the survey
were received by BTA on Friday.

The survey focuses on what the "ideal workplace" looks like
according to the ICT experts in Bulgaria. The participants were
HR managers and employees of leading companies in this sector.

One in three participants thinks that the necessary conditions
for lowering the stress level at work are missing, and only ten
would call the stress level "low".

Another negative factor revealed by the survey is the employees'
impossibility to use their lunch break: 45 per cent said they
have had to use this break to work. If they could find time,
over 62 per cent of the respondents would prefer to have lunch
with colleagues outdoors in a restaurant or park.

Nearly 97 per cent of the respondents have had to work from home
and in this case they all find the stress levels lower.
Sixty-two per cent describe the organization of their work from
home as more successful. For half of the respondents there is no
difference in the spending of personal finance between working
in the office and working from home, but they describe their
productivity (36 per cent) and creativity (31 per cent) as
higher.

The personal contact with colleagues is important for 94 per
cent of the respondents. Nevertheless, only 5 per cent of them
would share their workplace with a colleague -  for sixty-seven
per cent it is extremely important to have a personal workplace
that is only for them.

Seventy-six per cent said it is important to have the
opportunity to see the office and the work environment before
accepting a job proposal, although only 62 per cent have had
such an opportunity.
