Russian Company to Upgrade Unit 5 of Kozloduy N-plant


Sofia, October 16 (BTA) - The Russian company, Rosatom Service, part of the Rosatom state corporation, signed an agreement on the upgrading of the generator equipment of the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant, the representation of the Russian company in Sofia said.

The contract is of a total value of 24.7 million euro. Apart from the main equipment, spare parts for the installation activities will also be supplied. Besides, Rosatom Service will provide services related to the monitoring and adjustment of the systems upon the installation. The equipment is to be delivered within 500 days. The activities within the project should be fulfilled by May 2018.

A new upgraded stator, capable of ensuring the operation of a TBB-1000-4UZ turbogenerator with a nominal capacity of up to 1,100 megawatts, will also be made and installed within the contract.

This is the second such contract for Kozloduy signed with Rosatom Service. An upgraded stator is being installed at Unit 6 under an analogous contract.
