Deputy PM Kalfin Meets  Moroccan PM

Rabat/Sofia, March 2 (BTA) - Deputy Prime Minister and Labour and Social Policy Minister Ivailo Kalfin had a working meeting with Moroccan Prime Minister Abdelillah Benkirane in the sidelines of an international labour conference held in Morocco. The forum was co-hosted by the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The two discussed bilateral relations and the upcoming signing of social agreement between the two countries.

"Now we are in the process of finalizing the bilateral agreement, which will regulate the social rights of people, who work or who have worked in the other country on a reciprocal basis," Kalfin said adding that the document is very important for Bulgaria because the Bulgarians who have worked or have been working in Morocco need social protection.

The two also discussed social inequality and agreed that education and professional qualification are the instruments needed to overcome poverty.

In the talk Kalfin familiarized the Moroccan Prime Minister with the Bulgarian candidature of Irina Bokova for UN Secretary-General. He noted that each vote counts for Bokova's success and voiced hope that Morocco will consider the possibility for supporting the Bulgarian candidate.
