Sofia, January 12 (BTA) - The Energy Ministry has limited the export of electricity from Bulgaria but not the transiting of power via the national grid, the Ministry said in a press release.

The limitation is imposed in order to meet the increased domestic demand for power in the long spell of freezing temperatures and snow in Bulgaria. The limitation is in force from 01:00 hrs. local time on January 13 until the necessary reserves are replenished to ensure the secure operation of the national power system. Greece too has announced suspension of exports of electricity in force as of 01:00 hrs. local time on January 11.
