site.btaPresident Radev Confers with OECD Secretary General Gurria

Paris, December 6 (BTA special correspondent Lora Metanova) - Bulgaria has met all membership criteria to the Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), said Bulgarian President Rumen Radev at a joint news briefing with OECD Secretary General Angel Gurria in Paris on Tuesday. The Bulgarian head of state is on a three-day working visit to France.

Radev said that Bulgaria boasts economic growth and low unemployment rate and recalled that days earlier two leading agencies upgraded Bulgaria's credit ratings.

The President said that Bulgaria's bid to join the organisation is backed by all 22 EU countries which are OECD members.

Secretary General Gurria said that the OECD will support Bulgaria during its upcoming EU Council Presidency. He highlighted cooperation in healthcare and education.
