Sofia, June 7 (BTA) - President Rumen Radev and Bavarian State Minister of Economic Affairs, Energy and Technology Franz Josef Pschierer Thursday discussed possible ways to promote investment cooperation in high value-added sectors between Bulgaria and Bavaria, Radev's information service said.

Pschierer is visiting Bulgaria with a delegation including representatives of various institutions, economic organizations and business.

Radev invited Bavaria to tap the advantages Bulgaria offers, including a well-trained workforce, proven IT expertise and traditions, as well as a stable currency. Bulgaria is one of Bavaria's important trading partners because of its strategic location, low taxes and industrial zone network, Pschierer said. He also spoke of the need to increase the transparency of the Bulgarian administration and to guarantee the security of investments.

Radev said he appreciated highly Bavaria's support in building the dual vocational training system in Bulgaria. Pschierer confirmed the State's readiness to continue to help this country introduce this successful economic model.

The sides also discussed the future of Europe and aspects of security, the reforms of asylum policy and migration control. Pschierer commended Bulgaria's efforts to guard the EU borders and expressed readiness to help in case of a spike in migration pressure.

Radev and Pschierer also confirmed the significance of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region for both countries, as it is an important factor in economic growth, cohesion and cultural exchange.
