Tbilisi/Sofia, June 10 (BTA) - Bulgarian National Assembly Chair Tsveta Karayancheva is on an official visit to Georgia heading a parliamentary delegation, said the parliamentary press office Monday. Upon her arrival she met with representatives of the Bulgarian community.

She told the Bulgarians that enhancing contacts with the Bulgarian communities in other countries is among the priorities of the National Assembly and Bulgarian state institutions in general - which is why a standing committee on Bulgarians abroad was established in Parliament.

On the parliamentary delegation are the chair of the parliamentary group for Bulgaria-Georgia friendship, Kristina Siderova, and four MPs.

Karayancheva is scheduled to confer with her Georgian counterpart Irakli Kobakhidze and sign a bilateral cooperation agreement. Meetings with Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili and with Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze are also on the programme.
