Sofia, July 8 (BTA) - There is no information of any Bulgarian citizens hurt in the torrential rains and landslides that have hit western Japan, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry said in a press release on Saturday evening. No Bulgarians have so far approached the Embassy in Tokyo for assistance.

The Ministry strongly advised against travel to the affected areas until the situation returns to normal.

The overall death toll from the disaster in the six prefectures rose to at least 81 on Sunday, with dozens still missing. Floodwaters have forced several million people from their homes, media reports and the Fire and Disaster Management Agency said, quoted by Reuters.
