site.btaFinance Minister Goranov Presents to MEPs Results of Bulgarian EU Presidency

Sofia/Brussels, July 12 (BTA) - Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov presented in Brussels to the European Parliament's Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs the results of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU in the area of economic and financial matters, Goranov's Ministry reported Thursday.

The Finance Minister has reported that the Bulgarian EU Presidency has worked with maximum openness and transparency, and strived to find the optimal balance between the interests of all parties involved.

Experts from the Ministry presented in Sofia the results achieved in the priority areas for the Ministry. The
participants and the heads of working groups under the Council explained the development process and negotiations of the dossiers, what has been accomplished and how it impacts citizens.

Experts answered journalists' questions and explained the achievements in the areas of financial services and markets, tax policy, deepening the Economic and Monetary Union and the negotiations process on the next Multiannual Financial Framework.
