Bulgaria's trade relations with Romania and Turkiye are reaching new heights, Deputy Innovation and Growth Minister Krasimir Yakimov said during a business forum in Burgas on Friday. The event, held for the third time, aims to strengthen economic ties between the three countries.
Yakimov pointed out that the trade data for the January-September 2024 period shows sustainable growth between Bulgaria, Romania and Turkiye. He noted that among the main goals of Bulgaria is the active creation of a favourable environment for investments, increasing trade and deepening economic cooperation with its neighbours. In this regard, he added, Bulgaria offers foreign investors the acceleration of investment processes and increased incentives for new business ventures.
"We are actively working to resolve the problems that investors face, such as difficulties in finding labour and infrastructure," Yakimov underscored. He noted Bulgaria's progress in terms of building a modern industrial infrastructure in recent years, adding that in 2025 alone, more than BGN 205 million were invested in eleven industrial zones and parks in the country.
Speaking to business representatives from Romania and Turkiye, Yakimov pointed out that the Ministry operates under two EU programmes worth a total of BGN 5 billion, and that Romanian and Turkish companies can also actively benefit from these funds.
The business forum was organized by the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency, together with the Bulgarian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce.
