Radost Dzheneva from Chicago, USA, was nominated by the Creators Without Borders 2007 Foundation for the Saint Zlata of Meglen Award in 2025, the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad (EABA) said.

“Dzheneva is the heart of the Bulgarian community in Chicago. Creator of the Incredible Bulgarian Women in Illinois group, which unites over 3,000 Bulgarian women, she inspires mutual aid, charity and cultural exchange,” the EABA emphasized.

Among the reasons for the nomination the EABA noted organizing charity campaigns to help social homes and schools in Bulgaria, initiating regular meetings and cultural events that preserve Bulgarian traditions abroad, and active participation in the promotion of Bulgarian business and cultural life in Chicago.

In 2023, Dzheneva was also awarded the honorary prize of the Bulgarian Association in Chicago.

On October 15, the EABA will present its annual Bulgarian Woman of the Year – Saint Zlata of Meglen Award. Twenty nominations have been received from 11 countries. BTA will present the nominees in a series of articles.
