A joint computer-assisted command post exercise was held at the Charalitsa National Military Training Complex and the Armed Forces headquarters from October 6 to 10, the Defence Ministry said in a press release on Friday.

Participating in Relentless Resolve 25 were over 300 service persons from the Defence Staff, Joint Forces Command, the command of the various armed forces, Joint Special Operations Command, Logistics Support Command, Military Police Service, Joint Forces Command of Romania, Joint Operations Command of Italy, the NATO Multinational Battlegroup in Bulgaria, the NATO Force Integration Unit in Bulgaria, the Military Medical Academy in Sofia, and the Central Military District. Representatives of the General Directorate of Gendarmerie, Special Operations, and Counterterrorism, the Border Police General Directorate, the Defence and Mobilization Training Directorate at the Ministry of Interior, as well as military personnel from the voluntary reserve of Joint Forces Command.

The main objective of the exercise was to improve the training and interaction of commanders and staffs of the armed forces in coordinating actions and demonstrating determination in conducting a joint operation to protect Bulgaria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

During the exercise, tasks were performed according to scenarios that included activities related to planning, activation, deployment, and use of forces for immediate action, communication and information support, crisis response, logistics support, and coordination between national and allied forces.

The communication and information system established in the Armed Forces was used, providing a unified environment for the exchange of information between participants from command posts and formations in areas of permanent deployment. 

During the exercise, the Bulgarian Chief of Defence, Admiral Emil Efimov, met at the Charalitsa Military Academy with soldiers from the voluntary reserve of the Joint Forces Command, who were participating in an exercise of this format for the first time. He highly praised the capabilities demonstrated by all participants in the exercise.

Relentless Resolve 25 confirmed the high level of training, professionalism, and readiness of the personnel to perform tasks, both within the framework of national defence and in the context of the collective security of NATO Member States.
