The Zora Bulgarian Cultural Society in Innsbruck, Austria, has nominated Nina Wasilewa-Zanechev for the Saint Zlata of Meglen Award in 2025, the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad (EABA) said on Thursday.

"With her activities, Wasilewa-Zanechev proves that the Bulgarian spirit can be preserved, shared and developed anywhere in the world," the EABA emphasized.

Among the reasons for the nomination are work on cultural and humanitarian projects supported by institutions in Bulgaria and Austria, interaction with Bulgarian schools and youth organizations to promote education and national self-awareness, as well as the organization of festivals, concerts and other events presenting Bulgarian folklore on world stages.

On October 15, the EABA will present its annual Bulgarian Woman of the Year – Saint Zlata of Meglen Award. Twenty nominations have been received from 11 countries. BTA will present the nominees in a series of articles.
