The Vasylivka Municipality in Bolhrad district, Odesa region, has been awarded for its support of the Ukrainian naval forces, the Bolhrad District Military Administration reported on its website.
On behalf of Vice Admiral and Commander of the Ukrainian Navy Oleksiy Neizhpapa, the head of the Bolhrad District Military Administration Mykhailo Sharafanenko, presented a commemorative badge “For Support of the Ukrainian Navy” to the Mayor of Vasylivka Municipality, Petar Boychev.
“The event highlights the cooperation between the civilian population and the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the administration said. Sharafanenko expressed gratitude to the community residents for their active stance, support and contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s defence.
Vasylivka Municipality was formed in 2020 as part of Ukraine’s administrative-territorial reform. Its centre is the Bulgarian village of Vasylivka. The Municipality also includes four other villages, Bannivka, Holytsia, Kalcheva and Karakurt. The total population is 11,010, of whom about 80% are ethnic Bulgarians.
