The Bulgarian women’s national team in aesthetic group gymnastics claimed the European championship title at the competition held in Budapest, while the junior team secured silver medals.
The senior National Team—Karina Neykova, Siyana Tabakova, Hristiana Kovacheva, Viktoria Berova, Yana Staikova, Maria Mechlemova, Sibila Karpacheva, and Katrin Taseva—delivered flawless routines over the two-day competition. Coached by Kristina Tasheva, the team scored a total of 57.200 points, with 28.600 points awarded on each day. Russian teams “Expersia” and “Madona” took second and third place with 56.600 and 55.700 points, respectively. Sofia-based team Akademik finished eighth (52.450 points), and Velbazhd Kyustendil placed 24th.
In the junior category, the Bulgarian National Team—Linoy Georgieva, Daria Nacheva, Jacqueline Naydenova, Andrea Hristova, Andrea Sarafova, Dalia Ivanova, and Nikol Zlatkova—won silver with a combined score of 55.000 (27.200 + 27.800). Russia’s “Madona Junior” took gold with 55.150 points, and “Viktoria” (Russia) earned bronze with 54.450 points. Among other Bulgarian junior teams, Akademik ranked sixth (53.150), Etar Elite 24th, and Afrodite 27th.
Bulgaria’s performance highlights the strength of its aesthetic gymnastics program across age groups, continuing the country’s tradition of excellence in the discipline.
