Eight people were injured in last night's drone attack against the Black Sea port city of Odesa, Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Oleh Kiper said on the Telegram app on Monday.
Kiper said four of the injured were hospitalized, while the others are being treated as outpatients.
Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov said the attack damaged the ceiling and windows of a medical facility in the city, including the operating room. "Fortunately, no patients were injured," Trukhanov said on Telegram.
He added that residential buildings, civil infrastructure, a highway, and a car and truck service station were also damaged. Fires broke out in several areas and were extinguished by firefighters. Emergency services continue to clear debris from the site.
Odesa Region is home to the third largest community of expatriate Bulgarians, numbering more than 150,000 people, according to an official population census in Ukraine in 2001. Between 50,000 and 60,000 Bulgarians live in the regional capital, Odesa. Bulgarians in the region are concentrated in the districts of Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.
