According to Valchev, on a day of local elections we should not think only "locally" and fail to see beyond the borders of Bulgaria. "Because in the days of the war in Ukraine, our thoughts should also be about supporting the Bulgarians here, who num ber 200,000-250,000 (in Odesa alone there are between 50,000 and 60,000 Bulgarians), and maybe much more if we count all those with Bulgarian roots from generations back.
