Bulgarian Milena Todorova finished second in the 12.5 km Mass Start of the Biathlon World Cup in the Slovenian winter centre of Pokljuka. Todorova knocked down all 20 targets and covered the course in 39:58.2 minutes. This left her 16.4 seconds behind the winner Lou Jeanmonnot (France). It was a career-best World Cup achievement for the Bulgarian.
The Bulgarian, who returned to the track this year after maternity leave, reached a third place in the sprint and a seventh in the pursuit in Oberhof, Germany, a fifth in the mass start at the World Championships in Lenzerheide and several more top 15 finishes this season. With her performance in Pokljuka, she equalled Ekaterina Dafovska's achievement of March 13, 2004 when the legend finished second in the pursuit in Oslo.
