Bulgaria's third-highest ranked male tennis player Dimita Kuzmanov reached the final at the ATP Challenger tournament in Hersonissos, Greece on Saturday. He won 6-3, 7-5 against German Christoph Negritu to secure a place in the match for the title.

If Kuzmanov wins, this will be the third Challenger trophy in his career after triumphs in Barcelona, Spain in 2021 and in Astana, Kazakhstan last year.

The Bulgarian, currently ranked at No. 376, will meet world No. 557 Federico Cina in the final. The Italian entered the main draw of the competition with a wild card but managed to eliminate both the second and the third seed.

Only five Bulgarians have managed to win a title at this level: Milen Velev (1993), Orlin Stanoytchev (1996) Ivaylo Traykov (1999), Grigor Dimitrov (2010), Dimitar Kuzmanov (2021) and Adrian Andreev (2024). Out of them, only Dimitrov, Stanoytchev and Kuzmanov have managed to win more than once.
