Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov convened a meeting of the Security Council at the Council of Ministers at 4 p.m., the government press service said on Tuesday. The topic of the meeting will be "Review and analysis of the current geopolitical situation and the resulting risks to national security."
In addition to the permanent members of the Council, invitations to attend the meeting have been sent to the chairpersons of all parliamentary groups.
On Monday evening, news broke that US President Donald Trump has temporarily suspended all military aid to Ukraine after his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Associated Press, Reuters, Fox News, Bloomberg and a number of other major US and global media reported, citing a White House official.
Fox News television quoted another US official as stressing that it was a pause, not a permanent halt to aid.
