Powerful explosions were heard in Odesa as the city came under attack from drones launched from the Black Sea, Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov said on Monday via the Telegram app.
Air raid sirens were activated at 20:48, with the first explosions occurring at 21:30.
Regional authorities urged residents to take shelter in bomb shelters.
Local Telegram channels reported that around 12 drones were currently attacking the Ukrainian Black Sea port city.
Odesa Region is home to the third-largest community of expatriate Bulgarians, with more than 150,000 people, according to Ukraine’s 2001 population census. Between 50,000 and 60,000 Bulgarians live in the regional capital, Odesa, while others are concentrated in the districts of Bolhrad, Izmail, and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.
