site.btaGrigor Dimitrov Loses to Jannik Sinner in Miami Open Final

Bulgaria’s top tennis player Grigor Dimitrov lost 3-6 1-6 to Jannik Sinner in the final of the hard surface Masters Series tournament in Miami on Sunday. The Italian is leading the ATP Tour with 22 wins this season while Dimitrov is second with 20. 

This was the third final for Dimitrov at the ATP Masters 1000 level. In 2017 he claimed the trophy in Cincinnati and in November 2023 he lost to Novak Djokovic in Paris. 

On his way to the Miami Open final Dimitrov scored victories against three world top ten players – Carlos Alcaraz (2), Alexander Zverev (5) and Hubert Hurkacz (9).

After a strong run, Dimitrov will return in the top ten of the world ranking for the first time since 2018 at 9th place.
