Bulgarians Bring Home 26 Medals in European Lifesaving Championships

Bulgarian athletes won a total of 26 medals at the European Lifesaving Championships, held in the Belgian city of Bruges between 16 and 23 September. 

The Bulgarian women's and men's masters team won a total of eight gold, two silver and eight bronze medals in the individual and relay events. 

Veselin Stefanov finished the championships with three gold and one silver medal, while Rositsa Yanakieva finished with three gold medals. 

The medals on the Bulgarian team went to:

Monika Vucheva - 1 gold and 2 bronze
Veselina Borisova - 1 gold

Men
Veselin Stefanov - 3 gold, 1 silver
Valentin Mitrev - 1 gold, 2 bronze
Ivan Grozdanov - 1 gold, 2 bronze
Yani Kukov - 1 gold
Veselin Vassilev - 1 silver, 4 bronze
Ilian Tsankov - 1 silver, 2 bronze.
