Bulgarian Youth and Sports Minister Dimitar Iliev and his Serbian counterpart Zoran Gajic discussed concrete opportunities for cooperation between Bulgaria and Serbia in sport. The two held a meeting during Iliev's visit to Belgrade on Wednesday.

The two sides discussed joint training camps, exchange of experience in improving sports infrastructure, equitable awarding of medallists, and deepening bilateral relations in sports science and training of coaches.

Iliev and Gajic stressed that the signed memorandum on cooperation in the field of youth and sport between the two countries provides a basis for undertaking concrete activities, including the exchange of practice in terms of motivating young athletes through scholarship programs, the construction of sports science centres and the holding of future forums where sport will be presented.

According to Gajic, the ties between Bulgarian and Serbian athletes and coaches are strong because they are spontaneous and friendly.

In Belgrade, Iliev also held talks with Azerbaijani Youth and Sports Minister Farid Garibov, with whom he discussed deepening bilateral relations in sport.
