site.btaPamporovo to Host Elevation999 International Mountain Bike Competition

Between September 1 and 3, the mountain resort of Pamporovo will host the international mountain bike competition Elevation999 Enduro Challenge, said the organizers from the Rhodope town.

For the tenth year in a row, dozens of cyclists from all over the country will take part in the race along the tracks in Pamporovo and the forests above Smolyan. There will also be from Greece, Italy and Cyprus.

Enduro is a form of mountain bike racing which  has undergone rapid development in the last few years worldwide. It consists of staged descents through several different courses and self-propelled movement between the finishes and starts of most of the special stages.

Elevation999 contestants will ride on 6 different stages with a high level of difficulty, with courses featuring numerous steep sections, technical turns, roots, boulders, rock falls, jumps and other natural and man-made obstacles for a total length of over 16 kilometres. as well as more than 10 kilometres of self-propelled transfers.
On Friday and Saturday, the participants will familiarize themselves with the race route and train, and on Sunday the race itself will take place. Competitors will start in the morning in Pamporovo, where they will have a total of 3 stages, then they will go down the trails to Smolyan, where in the afternoon they will finish at the city centre.

In Pamporovo, the summer season continues in full force, with the Pamporovo Bicycle Park, lifts from the Pamporovo Tourist Centre to Studenets and from Studenets to Snezhanka Peak, the Dam Adventure Park, etc. remaining open until September 24.
