The management of PFC Levski (Sofia) announced on its official website on Tuesday that the club has been fined EUR 40,000 by UEFA for discriminatory behavior observed in the tribune from club supporters during the match with FC Shkupi (Republic of North Macedonia) in the UEFA Europa League. The punishment was imposed for chanting ethnic-based and political slogans, as well as excesses in the away sector.

PFC Levski has also been banned by UEFA from having an audience and selling tickets for the next away match in Europe. "PFC Levski has been banned from selling tickets to its supporters for the team's next away game in European club tournaments. In the event of a new offence at the team's next home game in the European club tournaments, the Vivacom Arena-Georgi Asparuhov Stadium will be partially closed."

"Once again we appeal to all fans to support the team in the rematch against FC Shkupi in Sofia on August 3 without any acts of aggression, violence, racism, discrimination, xenophobia and political slogans, as they can bring further heavy penalties from UEFA," PFC Levski said in the statement published on Tuesday.
