Bulgaria's top high jumper Tihomir Ivanov on Saturday won a silver medal at the 2023 True Athletes Classics Leverkusen - World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger.

The Bulgarian cleared the bar at 2.24 m, after attempting 2.10 m and 2.18 m. Next, he failed thrice at 2.27 m.

Winner Tobias Potye of Germany and Joel Baden of Australia, who placed third, showed the same bests.

Ivanov expects his entry in the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest (August 19-27) to be confirmed officially in a matter of days. "This tournament was a good point of departure for the World Championships," he commented.
