Bulgartransgaz has received in full transit fees for December, Energy Minister Vadimir Malinov told a news briefing at the Energy Ministry. "We have not yet received official information from the US administration, sent through official channels, about the lifting of sanctions on Gazprombank," the minister said, in response to a question on whether there were any delayed payments to Bulgaria in view of a statement by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto that Hungary had received a derogation on payments through Gazprombank.
Vladimir Malinov conferred with Peter Szijjarto last Friday. At that time, different options were discussed, among which is that Bulgartransgaz should receive its payments for the services provided on time and in full.
Bulgartransgaz is considering alternative payment options within the sanctions, according to Vladimir Malinov, and these will be announced when the work is completed.
The briefing was held within the framework of a contract signed on Friday for the development of safety analyses for licensing and implementation of alternative nuclear fuel type at Unit 6 of the Bulgarian nuclear power plant between Kozloduy N-plant and Westinghouse Electric Company.
