site.btaSofia Airport Hosts Exhibition Celebrating Young Planespotting Photographers

A photo exhibition dedicated to young planespotting photographers opened later this week at Sofia Airport, the airport's press service said here on Monday. The photographs will be on display at Terminal 2, featuring images taken by spotters who joined an airport-organized event for the spotting community in October.

Inspired by their passion for aviation and the allure of "the big metal birds," the young spotters capture impressive images that reveal the beauty of aviation through their lenses. The exhibition will showcase 23 unique works.

The event is set to open at 12:00 on November 19, 2024. Jesus Caballero, CEO of SOF Connect, the operator of Sofia Airport will welcome special guests from the aviation community who will talk about their passion for planespotting.

During a recent meeting with the planespotting community, Caballero announced that Sofia Airport will have a dedicated aircraft spotting platform by mid-2026. This platform is part of a project for a photovoltaic park at the airport, which is currently being designed.
