The awarding ceremony of the winning participants in the prize game of the Explore Bulgaria - 100 Tourist Sites of Bulgaria national movement, administered by the Bulgarian Tourist Union (BTS), will start at 2:30 pm on Friday in Sofia, the BTS said.

The event is organized with the support of Yettel Bulgaria and Kaufland Bulgaria and with the assistance of the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education and Science.

The grand prizes will be drawn - two Dacia cars - one for the winner of the gold badge with stamps and one for the winner of the gold badge with stamps and marks, and prizes for silver and bronze badge winners. All holders of gold badges will receive prizes. The draw is open to registered entrants between September 2023 and the end of August 2024.

The BTS and Yettel Bulgaria have been working on a project for the digitalization of the movement for a year now. The telecommunications operator's mobile application allows all who wish to do so to create a digital profile after registration, where they can collect digital stamps from the sites and participate in the prize draw. Access to the app is free for subscribers of all mobile operators, BTS said.

The Explore Bulgaria - 100 Tourist Sites of Bulgaria national movement was established in 1966 on Vitosha mountain's Cherni Vrah peak. It is the most popular public movement, emblematic of the BTS, without analogue in the country and in the world, the organization points out. Eight of the sites on the movement's list are also on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The movement is led by a National Coordination Council, which includes ministries, institutions and media.

The main objectives of the movement include promoting the most significant cultural and natural sites in Bulgaria; encouraging visitor interest; and providing for people's enrichment of their knowledge about the sites.

Since its establishment, the number of participants in the movement has exceeded 20 million Bulgarian and foreign tourists. They collect stamps and seals from the sites and become winners of bronze, silver and gold badges accompanied by a diploma. All those registered in the movement are entitled to take part in an annual prize game.
