site.btaWizz Air Welcomes 20 Millionth Passenger at Sofia Airport
Wizz Air has carried 20 million passengers to and from Sofia Airport, the airline announced Friday at a ceremony held at the Bulgarian capital's airport. The 20 millionth passenger, who arrived from Italy on a Milan-Bergamo-Sofia flight, was greeted by Wizz Air Corporate Communications Manager Sasha Vislaus and Sofia Airport Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer Dimitar Bikov.
The passenger, Petya Minkova, received an EUR 200 voucher as a prize, which she can use on her next trip.
Wizz Air representatives and Sofia Airport celebrated their successful partnership. The airline also announced the upcoming launch of its new air route from the French city of Lyon to Sofia, tickets for which are already on sale.
Earlier on Friday, Wizz Air announced the temporary unavailability of services on the airline's website and mobile app in connection with the global IT systems outage. The airline advised passengers to arrive at the airport at least three hours before their flight.
