Vice President Iliana Iotova will open the General Assembly of the European League for Economic Cooperation (ELEC), her press centre said Monday.

The forum is held under the patronage of the Vice President and will be opened with an international conference on the future of the euro and the future of Bulgaria in the euro area. The forum will be attended by the presidents of the national committees of the countries that are part of the organization, as well as representatives of institutions and the financial sector.

The European League for Economic Cooperation was established in 1946 with the status of an official consultative member of the Council of Europe as well as of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. With its expert analyses and reports, the League plays an active role in shaping European policies, the release said.
