Bulgarian Vice President Iliana Iotova will open the General Assembly of the European League for Economic Cooperation (ELEC) in Sofia on June 17, the Presidential Institution said in a press release on Sunday.
The forum under Iotova’s auspices will be opened with an international conference titled "The Future of the Euro and Bulgaria's Future in the Euro Area". The event will be attended by the presidents of the national committees of the ELEC member countries, as well as by representatives of financial institutions.
ELEC was established in 1946 with the status of an official consultative member of the Council of Europe as well as of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. With its expert analyses and reports, the League plays an active role in European policy-making.
