"The dynamic development of new technologies requires development of digital skills. This will allow to achieve the digital transformation we are striving for," said E-governance Minister Valentin Mundrov on Thursday during the Second International Conference on Technology and Innovation of Southeast Europe. The organizer of the event, which took place in Thessaloniki on Thursday, is the Cisco International Center for Digital Transformation and Digital Skills under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Health and the Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance. This was announced by the press center of the relevant ministry on Friday.

Mundrov said that Bulgaria is working on several programs and initiatives to overcome the "digital skills shortage". "Bulgaria places a strong emphasis on measures aimed at the digital transformation of school education, including vocational education and training," he said.

Within the framework of the forum, the achievements so far in e-health and Bulgaria's plans for further development in this area were presented. Deputy Health Minister Petko Stefanovski and experts from Information Services AD, participating in the process of development of the National Health Information System, also took part in the discussion on the topic.

During his visit to Greece Minister Mundrov held a bilateral meeting with his Greek counterpart, Minister of Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou. The two discussed the opportunities for cooperation in the field of e-health, as well as in the implementation of the main goals of the digital transformation - digital skills, digitalization of business and public administration, new technologies.
