Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Lyudmila Petkova and Turkiye's Ambassador in Sofia Mehmet Sait Uyanik discussed opportunities for enhancing economic cooperation and stimulating investment between Bulgaria and Turkiye, the Ministry of Finance reported here on Thursday.

Petkova focused on the expansion and modernization of the border control check points between the two countries and on ensuring infrastructure connectivity, including in terms of rail transport. The modernization of the three border control check points with Turkiye will be part of an overall national project for the development of border crossing points in the country, the main objective of which is to stimulate the economy and create a more favourable business environment, as well as to facilitate the passage of people across the border.

The Ambassador of Turkiye expressed readiness for coordination and joint actions that will contribute to the economic development of the two countries and stimulate bilateral investments.
