SME Promotion Agency Head: Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Can, Should Play Role of Development Centre for Businesses

Bulgarian SME Promotion Agency Executive Director Boyko Takov said here on Tuesday that the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) can and should play the role of a development centre for businesses. Takov was speaking at the 4th Science for Business Forum here on Tuesday, organized by the SME Promotion Agency and the BAS at Sofia's Inter Expo Center.

"With the Science and Business Forum, we want to show that the BAS can be open to businesses, that the Academy can support businesses and the entire economy," Takov noted.

"Science is also a business. It drives the economy. We talk about innovation all the time. This is the topic for which a lot of financial resources are allocated both at national and European level", Takov noted. But along with the available financial resources and opportunities, he urged the representatives from academia present to work more closely with businesses.
