The construction sector in Bulgaria is recovering. It had a 3% growth in April on an annual basis, according to new statistics put out Monday by the National Statistical Institute (NSI). That compares to a decline of over 2% in the same month of the previous year. The most significant increase in April 2024 was in output of specialized construction activities, up 6.9%.

In April 2024, the index of output in the construction sector declined by 0.7% over the previous month. Calendar-adjusted data shows a 2.8% increase in construction output compared with the same month in 2023.

Monthly dynamics

In April 2024, official statistics shows a decrease in civil engineering (by 1.3%), in the production of specialized construction activities (by 0.7%) and in the production of building construction (by 0.3%).

Year-on-Year dynamics

In April 2024 compared to the same month of 2023, an increase in production was registered in the specialized construction activities (by 6.9%), and in civil engineering (by 2.4%). In the building construction, a decrease of 0.2% is reported, said the NSI.
