The EY Global Integrity Report 2024 reveals that integrity standards are improving due to better direction from management and leadership and stricter regulation and pressure from regulators. However, internal and external pressure on employees' behaviour continues.

The report is based on a survey of 5,464 board members, senior managers, managers and employees in a sample of large
organizations and public bodies in 53 countries and territories.

In Bulgaria, 54% of respondents said the integrity standards in their organizations had improved in the last two years, the leading factor being clearer guidelines from the management (63%). According to 86% of respondents, employees in their organizations act with integrity and the management complies with legal requirements, codes of ethics and industry regulations.

According to 68% of respondents in Bulgaria, employees in their organizations can report misconduct without worrying about whistleblower retaliation; 32% of respondents said they had reported misconduct in the last two years.
