The sixth edition of the European Mining Business Forum (EMBF) will be held Wednesday at the Millennium Grand Hotel in Sofia, the organizers from the Bulgarian Chamber of Mining and Geology said. The event starts at 10 am. 

The forum is also organized by the Bulgarian Ministry of Energy and the European Association of Mining Industries. The event will feature plenary sessions, discussions and opportunities for active communication, allowing participants to learn about key trends, challenges and opportunities in the mining industry in Europe and around the world.

The conference will focus on EU's vision and strategic objectives related to the extractive industries, their importance in the context of European green policies, as well as the opportunities for achieving competitiveness of the sector in the current global environment. Best practices in all areas of sustainable development and examples of the industry's impact and contribution to the economy and society will be presented.

Speakers at the forum will include representatives of the European Commission, members of the Bulgarian government and local government representatives, heads of European industry organisations, leading economic experts and business leaders, the organizers added. This year's EMBF participants will include representatives of mining organisations from Canada, Japan, the USA, Sweden, Germany, Austria, France, Serbia and others.

The EMBF has been held since 2010, establishing itself as the most significant event for the mineral industry in the country and an important event in the calendar of the European mining community. It is a key initiative for everyone involved in the future of the mining industry in Europe and its contribution to sustainable development and growth, the organizers said.

Visitors to the forum will have access to an exhibition area, where everyone will have the opportunity to learn in detail about the activities and achievements of leading Bulgarian and international companies, the press release read.
