site.btaWatchdog Detects 27 Consumer Protection Violations, June 1-3
Between June 1 and 3, the Commission for Consumer Protection (CCP) conducted 526 checks and detected 27 violations, the CCP said in a press release on Tuesday.
The checks covered food-service and amusement establishments, kiosks selling pizza, doner kebab, doughnuts, ice cream, maize, pancakes, etc. Temporary stall for balloons and toys, trampolines, bungee, children’s playgrounds, inflatable parks, shops selling children’s apparel and footwear, children’s books, parks, zoos, amusement parks, aqua parks, a dolphinarium, a planteraium and other facilities were checked as well.
Checks were carried out in Sofia, Blagoevgrad, Dupnitsa, Sandanski, Kyustendil, Montana, Vratsa, Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Lovech, Pleven, Smolyan, Stara Zagora, Burgas, Nesebar, Sunny Beach, Sveti Vlas, Pomorie, Varna, Targovishte, Razgrad and Dobrich.
The commonest violations detected on site were a lack of a menu stating food weights, no display of the star rating, no complaints register, no indication of business hours, failure to label in Bulgarian the type, manufacturer and importer of the merchandise, and failure to issue a cash register receipt.
The imposition of coercive administrative measures as administrative sanctions is in progress, the regulatory authority specified.
