More than 27,000 items bearing the logos of leading sports brands or the names of famous football players were seized from a truck coming from Turkiye at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint, Bulgaria's Customs Agency said. The truck driven by a Serbian national was bound for Germany. The haul comprises T-shirts, outfits, 160 pairs of trainers and 118 bags, many of them bearing the names of teams which will participate in EURO 2024 in Germany.

The truck arrived at the checkpoint on May 30. The fake merchandise was seized on suspicion of infringing intellectual property rights. The original companies will be informed about the case, the Customs Agency said.
