site.btaGovernment Allocates Over 795 Million for Budgets of First-level Spending Units, Municipalities

The Council of Ministers allocated over BGN 795 million under the first-level spending units' budgets and under the municipalities' budgets for 2024. The financial resource provided is to cover pending payments until the end-May on contracts for the implementation of the National Projects Investment Programme, as well as potential payments until end-May on already completed public procurements that are to be contracted and paid.

The funds are provided from the 2024 central budget capital expenditure.

The priority projects are under the National Projects Investment Programme with a projected spending plan for 2024. The proposed approach allows for projects that are ready for immediate implementation to receive the necessary funds from the central budget in a timely manner. The aim is to achieve better planning and spending of capital expenditure, as well as greater efficiency and transparency in the implementation of investment programmes.
