site.btaAgriculture Minister: We Are Fighting against People Who Imitate Agriculture But Receive Subsidies 

“A lot of money is poured into agriculture, and there are some people who imitate agriculture and they receive subsidies - we are fighting against them,” said Agriculture Minister Kiril Vatev said on Nova TV on the occasion of upcoming inspections in the sector. 
 
“I do not care about this at all,” said Vatev when asked whether he will remain a minister after the rotation of prime ministers in the government. “I have so much to do, so many things we have taken up,” Vatev said. He added that he would stay in the post if he was offered to stay. 

He said there are a lot of attempts to undermine the government. “Apparently, there are forces in Bulgaria who are worried that we are so close to Schengen and the euro area,” he said.  

State Fund Agriculture has paid everything that was due by the end of last year. In 2023 about BGN 3 billion were paid to the entire agricultural sector, Vatev said.  

No irregularities have been found, the minister said, referring to a statement by the Association for Industrial Poultry Farming on imports of eggs and chicken meat from third countries.
